In a press release sent on Wednesday, KHS announced that out of six staff members who tested positive in the past 30 days, there has been an additional outbreak within the customer care team, prompting the shelter to temporarily close its doors. was forced.
“Considering KHS currently cares for 242 animals in a building designed for a maximum of 144, this outbreak comes at the most unfortunate time,” read a portion of the press release.
All adoptions, appointments and surrenders held for Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24 will be rescheduled due to a temporary closure.
Drop-off of stray or abandoned animals by members of the public will also not be accepted over the weekend.
KHS hopes to resume appointments on Monday, July 25 at 11am
