Ramos has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon, obstruction of justice and illegal possession of ammunition and is being held on a $1 million bond.

Sheriff’s officials said they are working with the Will County Sheriff’s Office to secure charges in Sunday’s mass shooting.

Officials said at around 12:39 a.m. Sunday, the Will County Sheriff’s Sergeant heard 10 to 12 gunshots in the Jackson and Walnut Street areas during a patrol. Police said the constable reached the spot and saw around 100 people fleeing the area.

The sheriff’s deputy found that the party was in the backyard at 1018 E. Jackson St., and the shooting took place near a DJ booth that had been set up in the backyard. Initial estimates indicate that around 200 people attended the party.

The two people killed were identified on Monday as Holly Matthews and Jonathan Ceballos, both 22, and Joliet. According to the Will County coroner’s office, each suffered a bullet wound.

A few days after the shooting, Matthews’ fiancé, Adam Gregurikh, reached out to CBS 2 to ask for help to get justice.

“You could just tell that something was about to happen,” said a party guest named Nathan, who was a friend of Ceballos. “I never thought my friend was going to die.”

“We were best when we were together,” he said.

Gregurikh showed CBS2 videos of himself and Matthews off-roading, his favorite activity.

He replays these moments, waiting for a call he knows will never come.

“This whole time I keep thinking I’m going to wake up, she’ll be like, ‘I’m fine! he said.

His fiancée, who was studying to become an arborist, was one of two people killed over Halloween weekend in Joliot Township. Matthew and Jonathan Ceballos were both 22 years old; Both victims of a party became a nightmare.

Gregrich’s sister, Emily, was one of Matthews’ best friends, and was with him on the night of the mass shooting in which more than 12 people were injured.

“We didn’t stay long. We were on our way,” she said.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office has said that about 200 people showed up to the party; Most of them uninvited.

“It was a lot of people,” said Emily.

He and Matthew were there for only 20 minutes, but long enough for tragedy.

“Then the shot happened,” she said. “Everybody ran, and I didn’t run because I didn’t get Holi. I wasn’t going to run without her.”

The backyard Halloween party quickly turned into a nightmare.

“I heard people shouting: ‘There are bodies on the floor! People are getting hit!'” said a party guest named Nathan, who was a friend of Ceballos. “I’ve seen people get blood on their hands. Come out like that.”

The sound of gunfire made everyone run for their lives.

“People were running in the forest, just jumping over the fence. I see like maybe 10 people – they were trying to go by people’s yards,” said neighbor Ezequiel Herrera.

The sheriff’s office said the mass shooting appeared to be gang-related, but the victims were not gang-linked; Instead of being caught in crossfire, ending a love story still being written

“I will never see her in a wedding dress,” said Gregurikh.

What does justice look like for Matthews?

“We need to catch these people. We need to catch these people, because they don’t deserve to be out and roam,” Gregurich said.

At least one male victim remains in critical condition.

Sheriff’s officers said they have interviewed more than 100 people who were at the party on Jackson Street, but there are still dozens who have refused.
