Central Okanagan Search and Rescue located the three snow bikers after an overnight long search.
Just before 6pm on Saturday, Kelowna RCMP received a report from a snow biker who had fallen into a ravine and was trapped after damaging their snow bike.
The RCMP asked COSAR to assist in locating and extricating the snow biker. However, according to COSAR, the call involved three snow bikers who were stuck in a ravine in the Greystokes area.
COSAR responded with 10 members and three Kelowna Snowmobile Club members.
Once the members reached the area, they found that the subjects they were attempting to rescue were gone.
“When you send out a distress signal with your coordinates, please stay on those coordinates,” said search manager Duane Tresnich.

The search was then escalated, COSAR said, as the subjects continued to advance into the ravine in an attempt to find a way out, which led COSAR to follow them for hours.
Due to the deep snow and location, it took several hours for search crews to capture the snow bikers.
Once located, COSAR gave them snowshoes and helped them out of the ravine.
All three snow bikers were unhurt, however, as they were cold and tired.
They were returned to the staging area by 6 a.m. Sunday.
