Kashi Meenakari tops PM’s gift to Kamala Harris, Quad leaders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has presented unique and special gifts to US Vice President Kamala Harris and the Quad leaders, who have been selected after careful deliberation.

In the successful bilateral meeting, the PM presented Harris a copy of old information related to his grandfather PV Gopalan in a wooden handicraft frame.

PV Gopalan was a senior and respected government official who held various positions.

The Prime Minister also presented a pink ‘Meenakari’ chess set to VP Harris. The exquisite craft of pink enamel is closely associated with Kashi, one of the oldest cities in the world and the constituency of Prime Minister Modi.

Every piece of this chess set is remarkably handcrafted and the bright colors reflect the radiance of Kashi.

Australian PM Scott Morrison was presented with a handcrafted silver pink enamelled ship.

The ship is distinctively majestic and reflects the dynamism of Varanasi, a spiritual center famous among foreign tourists.

A sandalwood Buddha statue presented to Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga.

Buddhism plays a huge role in connecting India and Japan.

The thoughts and ideals of Lord Buddha resonate far and wide in Japan.

During his previous visits to Japan, PM Modi had visited several Buddhist temples.
