Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two suspects on charges of hiring weapons from a city court’s malkhana (warehouse) to commit the crime near Karachi’s Paposh Nagar graveyard.
According to SSP Central Malik Murtaza, Shahrah-e-Noorjahan police conducted raids near the graveyard and arrested the suspects identified as Shahryar alias Masoom Bengali and Saeed.
Police recovered weapons from their custody, saying those arrested were “most wanted suspects”.
The SSP said, “In the initial interrogation, the suspects made shocking revelations.
According to him, the suspects told the police that they used to get weapons on rent from Malkhana in the city court earlier too, and a man named Khaleel used to provide them with weapons for a limited period in exchange for Rs 8,000 per weapon.
“Khalil was also with him during the robbery,” the SSP said, adding that if he is ever arrested, Khaleel will visit the police station, where he will be presented as his lawyer and seek his release. deals” will be arranged.
He said that on Khaleel’s instructions, the suspects also conducted reconnaissance of officials visiting the city’s courts and provided “tips”. “They also conducted a reconnaissance of an officer of K-Electric in the central district on the instructions of the absconding suspect Khaleel.”

According to SSP Murtaza, Shahryar and Saeed had recently robbed the house in Iqbal Market of Orangi Town and Surjani Town.
The SSP said Shahryar was also involved in a robbery in which Rs 60 million was stolen from Hyderabad, and was arrested and sent to jail for six years in the case, adding that the suspect had committed his crime. After his release, he started committing crimes again.
The SSP said that Khaleel was also involved in car lifting.
