Joint Commission Meeting: External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar to visit UAE – India Times Hindi News

New DelhiExternal Affairs Minister of India, Dr. Jaishankar will be traveling to United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attend the 14th India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting (JCM). The 13th session of the India-UAE Joint Commission meeting took place virtually in August 2020, co-chaired by EAM Jaishankar and his counterpart UAE FM Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The EAM’s last visit to the UAE was in December 2021, when he visited the country to attend the 5th Indian Ocean Summit. The tour also comes as part of the I2U2 group, both of which have increased engagement in renewable energy and agricultural products. The group held its first summit-level meeting in July, with members from India, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and the US.

Earlier this year, India and the United Arab Emirates signed a free trade agreement, seen as a key to increasing economic cooperation. The FTA is India’s first comprehensive trade agreement in a decade and the deal eliminates tariffs on 80% of tariff lines. It is not only expected to add $9 billion to the GDP of UAE by 2030 but is also a market for Indian products throughout the West Asian region.
