J&K Police foils terror attempt on eve of Independence Day, arrests four Jaish men

On the eve of India’s 75th Independence Day, police in Jammu foiled a terrorist attempt with the arrest of four people and a module claimed to have been busted. Jaish-e-Mohammed (JE Meter). Police said that these men were planning to install vehicle-based IEDs in Jammu by August 15 and conduct reconnaissance of important locations in the country.

The group also intended to collect weapons dropped by drones and supply them to Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists operating in the Kashmir Valley.

Those arrested have been identified as Muntazir Manzoor alias Saifullah of Prichu of Pulwama, Izhar Khan alias Sonu Khan of Mirdan Mohalla, Kandala, Shamli, UP, Tauseef Ahmed Shah alias Shaukat alias Adnan of Jeff of Shopian and Jehangir Ahmed Bhat of Pulwama.

Muntazir was the first to be arrested and the police recovered a pistol, a magazine, eight live rounds and two Chinese grenades from him, as well as the truck he used to transport weapons in the Kashmir Valley. used to do.

Izhar Khan said that the Jaish commander Munazir alias Shahid in Pakistan had asked him to collect the weapons dropped by the drone near Amritsar and conduct a recce of the Panipat oil refinery. He had sent the videos of the refinery to Pakistan.

Khan was then assigned the task of reconnaissance of the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi, but was arrested before he could do so.

Tauseef Ahmed Shah was asked to go to Jammu and buy an old motorcycle for the IED blast. For this the IED had to be dropped from the drone. Tauseef was also arrested before completing this task.

A fruit trader in Kashmir, Jahangir Ahmad Bhat was constantly in touch with Jaish commander Shahid and introduced Khan to him. He was also a recruiter of Jaish.

More arrests are likely as the police action against the remaining members of the module continues.
