Jharkhand Police registers negligence case against 4 doctors in newborn death – India Times Hindi News

An FIR has been registered against four doctors of a nursing home in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district for alleged negligence in the death of a newborn. The police gave this information on Monday. A senior official said that Sumit Parashar, the father of the deceased, has lodged a complaint with the Dhanbad Sadar police station that his child died due to the negligence of four doctors, including the owner of the health facility.

According to the complaint, Parashar’s wife Shalini was admitted to the nursing home on September 9 and gave birth to a child, who died on Saturday. Dhanbad Sadar police station in-charge Vinay Kumar Singh said that the post-mortem of the dead body was done under the supervision of a magistrate at Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College and Hospital.

He said that the civil surgeon of the district hospital has been asked to constitute a medical board on the death of the child in the nursing home. Indian Medical Association (IMA) Dhanbad Chapter President Dr Major Chandan said that doctors try their best to save critical patients.

“It is a matter of concern to us that the administration and the police are taking action against the doctors for their alleged negligence, while no measures have been taken to stop the attack on doctors,” he said.

Recently another FIR was registered against a doctor from Dhanbad for alleged negligence in the treatment of a Bokaro patient who died in the hospital.
