JDU will go alone if there is no alliance with BJP: KC Tyagi

JD(U) national spokesperson KC Tyagi on Monday said that his party will fight the Uttar Pradesh elections alone if the alliance does not happen. BJP, He said that while the opposition parties are finalizing the alliance partners, the BJP is taking a lot of time without any assurance of an alliance with the JD(U).

“BJP is definitely our first choice. Our party colleague and Union Minister RCP Singh spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the alliance in UP. But nothing concrete has happened so far,” said Tyagi Indian Express,

He said that while the opposition parties, especially Samajwadi Party, the alliance was finalized, the BJP remains “non-committed” on the alliance. “Now we have come to the stage of filing nominations. There should be clarity among voters. We have been in talks of an alliance with the BJP for the UP elections for a long time,” said the former Rajya Sabha MP.

Asked about the party’s strategy in case there is no alliance with the BJP, Tyagi said, “We will wait for some time.” But we will contest as an independent in select seats.

Lately, the JD(U) has engaged in several political rugs, including heating up support for the RJD on the recent caste census.
