A senior Japanese man walks around with a placard to cheer them on at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to remind participants that they are all winners in their own way, even if they don’t make it to the podium.
The placard carries a message that read: “Good morning athletes! Even if you don’t get a medal, you are the best!!”
Photos of the man holding the placard are going viral, winning hearts online and being hailed as a hero for spreading positivity around the Olympic Village.

according to a report from time out tokyo, the person who wishes to remain anonymous, arrives at 7.15 a.m. and grabs the sign whenever team buses carrying Olympic athletes pass by. Inherent to hundreds of participants in the mega sporting extravaganza, he spends “about two hours every day at the big Harumi 3-chome crossing”.
Is there any country that takes hosting an event more seriously? As in, individuals take it upon themselves to ensure the welcome and support of guests. I doubt it man, I love Japan! 🙏🏼🇯🇵

The report said that the citizen initially put up a welcome sign before the opening ceremony. However, he changed it from 26 July to the present, “after seeing so many people obsess over the medal count”. =
