‘It’s Really F****d Up’: Taylor Swift Slams Damon Albarn For Saying She Doesn’t Write Her Music

Taylor Swift Blur frontman claimed she doesn’t write her own music during a recent interview, calling Damon Albarn on Twitter for ‘discrediting his writing’. LA Times,

Swift tweeted on Monday, ‘I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. ‘I write all my songs myself. Your hot take is completely false and so damning. You don’t have to like my lyrics, but it’s really f***** to try to discredit my writing. Very good.’

‘P.S. I wrote this tweet myself, in case you were wondering,’ Swift, who is world famous for her heartfelt and provocative lyrics, said.

His reaction came after Albarn, 53, said Pop, 32, “doesn’t write his own songs” and relies on the help of co-writers.

After pop music critic Mikel Wood praised Swift’s songwriting abilities in an LA Times interview, Albarn aired her belief that ‘co-writing is very different from writing.’

“I’m not hating on anyone, I’m just saying there’s a big difference between a songwriter and a songwriter who co-writes. That doesn’t mean the result can’t really be great,’ he told the outlet.

Albarn later apologized, claiming that his remarks were ‘taken out of context and used as clickbait.’

Record producer and songwriter Jack Antonoff, who has worked with Swift for seven years, jumped to Swift’s defense just minutes after tweeting.

That same night, Swift spoke about ‘toxic male privilege’ and how ‘women in music are not allowed to coast’.

‘We are held to a high, sometimes impossible-feeling, standard,’ she said during her speech, which received a standing ovation.

She criticized those who claimed, earlier in her career, that ‘a male producer or co-writer’ was responsible for her success.

“Over the past 10 years, I’ve seen women in this industry be criticized and each other measured and chosen for their bodies, their romantic lives, their fashions,” she continued.

Antonoff, 37, says he has “never met Damon Albarn” and says the artist has “never” been to his studio, where he has worked on every single Swift album since 2014.

“But apparently he knows more than the rest of us about all the songs that Taylor writes and brings out,” he quipped.

After receiving backlash on social media, Albert made a public apology under Swift’s tweet, which read: ‘I completely agree with you. I talked about songwriting and sadly it was reduced to clickbait.

‘I apologize unconditionally and unconditionally. The last thing I want to do is defame your songwriting. I hope you understand,’ he concluded.
