The Weather Girls

For the first time in history, it’s going to stop raining men… The Weather Girls’ 1982 disco hit has been given a wake-up call to use ‘more inclusive’ pronouns.

With the blessing of the song’s writer Paul Schaefer, it has been updated to change ‘men’ to ‘them’.

Released to mark World Pride Month, the rewrite aims to make everyone feel included and celebrate the non-binary transgender artist’s.

That means the chorus for the karaoke favorite will become: ‘It’s raining! Hallelujah! It’s raining them! so be it!’

And the classic lines ‘Tall, Blonde, Dark & Lean/ Rough & Tough & Strong & Mean’ have been replaced with ‘Cool, Bold, Strong & Keen/ Pride & Loud & Here & Seen’. The reference to ‘Mother Nature’ being ‘the only woman’ has been changed to ‘She is a single person’.

The line ‘so that every woman may find her ideal man’ would be sung ‘so that each man may find his ideal type’.

The new version, released today, is of Mila Jaime, an American transgender singer and gay rights activist, who said: 'It's an honor to be performing for them'
