Institute of Cost Accountants files police complaint for alleged malpractice in examination – Bharat Times Hindi News

Amid allegations of misconduct during its examinations, the Institute of Cost Accountants of India On Friday, it said it would take appropriate action against those who have resorted to “unfair means” and have already filed a police complaint in Chennai. The institute, which is the apex body of cost accountants, has about 5 lakh students and around 80,000 members.

78,000 students applied for the online intermediate and final term examinations that were conducted at 210 centers in India and abroad. The institute said in a statement that in the examinations held in June, the attendance of the candidates on the basis of login number was more than 70 percent.

However, there have been allegations of malpractice in respect of online examinations conducted at some centres. In a statement on Friday, the institute said that it has taken note of the genuine information and will take appropriate action against those who resort to unfair means in the examination.

“The institute has already lodged a police complaint/cyber crime complaint in respect of alleged misconduct in the examination of Online Intermediate and Final June 2022 at Chennai and similar action is under process at Vijayawada,” the statement said. According to the institute, where there was a problem at some centers, the examinations were re-conducted.

“… the institute is taking full care of all the issues related to the examinations and will provide a relevant solution in the best interest of the students,” it noted. Usually, the institute conducts intermediate and final term exams twice a year, but because of coronavirus Pandemic, the exam was conducted only once in 2020 and 2021. It has planned to conduct the exam twice this year.
