Indira Gandhi who was called ‘Sir’, not ‘Madam’; Kangana Ranaut woos fans with a similar picture of former PM in upcoming film ‘Emergency’

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has started shooting for her much-awaited film ‘Emergency’ and Twitter also couldn’t keep calm.

The actor unveiled the teaser of the film, in which she plays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, on Instagram.

Sharing her first look as Gandhi from the film, Ranaut wrote: “Submitting #EmergencyFirstLook! Portraying one of the most powerful & controversial women in the history of the world the #emergency shoot begins”.

The teaser shows a man walking towards a large room after ending the phone call. A woman, who can be seen wearing salt and pepper hair and a toasted cotton sari, reads some files with glasses in one hand as the man approaches her. The man then asks the woman if the US President wants to know if he can address her as ‘Madam’.

As the camera moves to reveal the woman’s face, we get a glimpse of Ranaut’s Indira Gandhi resemblance.

With a voice modulation, Ranaut goes on to say, “Okay. America ke president ko keh dena ki mujhe mere daftar me sab Madam nahi, Sir kehte hain (Tell the American president that everyone in my office addresses me as Sir, not Madam) “

She shared a clip with the caption: “Presenting ‘her’ who used to be called ‘Sir'”.

From his looks, style, body language and gestures to his dialogue delivery, gestures, voice changes and make-up – everything left the audience captivated.

His scintillating impersonation of Gandhi’s accent and appearance impressed netizens as Twitter was flooded with praise for him.
