West Indies have named their 16-man squad for the three-match T20I series to be followed by the three-match ODI series against India from February 16. As expected, Kieron Pollard comes in as captain while Nicholas Pooran is named deputy. Meanwhile, many star players include Darren Bravo, Roston Chase, Sheldon Cottrell. This series is starting from 16 February.
West Indies are currently engaged in a five-match T20I series with England where they lead 2-1 with two more games to go. He has retained the core of the team from their current home series with several all-rounders in the form of Rovman Powell and former captain Jason Holder.

Meanwhile, India has also announced its 18-man squad for the ODI and T20 series. The BCCI has named an 18-man squad for the upcoming West Indies series which will consist of three ODIs and as many T20Is. As expected, Kuldeep Yadav made a comeback in the national team while young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was also included. Also, Deepak Hooda was included in the team that was last part of India’s establishment in 2017. Meanwhile, fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have both been rested from the series; KL Rahul will be available only after the second ODI. R Jadeja is in his final stages of recovery after a knee injury and will not be available for ODIs and T20Is.

Ravi Bishnoi was also retained for the T20I series. Former captain Virat Kohli finds himself in both the teams even as the selectors have made some changes for the shortest format. In some other changes, Harshal Patel and Axar Patel were named for the T20Is. Venkatesh Iyer, who had fewer than usual outings in South Africa, was dropped from the ODIs but will play in the T20Is. Rishi Dhawan and Shah Rukh Khan are not liked, which was earlier reported by several news outlets. West Indies will play three ODIs and three T20Is starting on February 7. The ODI matches will be played in Ahmedabad, Kolkata will host the T20Is. Earlier, Rohit Sharma passed his fitness test at the NCA, Bengaluru, which sealed his return as India’s limited overs captain.
