Some citizens threw caution to the wind as they celebrated independence.
Dressed in vibrant shades of green and white, citizens across the country took to the streets and national monuments to celebrate Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day with traditional fervor and enthusiasm.
Even as the country is in the midst of what is called the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, some Pakistanis have thrown caution to the wind as they celebrate independence.
The day began with a change of guard ceremony at Mazar-e-Quaid and Mazar-e-Iqbal in Karachi and Lahore respectively and a 31-gun salute in the capital, followed by a 21-gun salute in all four provincial capitals.
Special functions and events were also organized across the country to celebrate Independence Day.
