If SP ties up with smaller parties, BJP will not get a seat in eastern UP: Om Prakash Rajbhari

Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar on Sunday claimed that if… Samajwadi Party alliances with smaller parties, then BJP It will not get a single seat in eastern Uttar Pradesh in the next year’s assembly elections.

Talking to PTI, Rajbhar said, ‘The public is angry with the BJP. If the Samajwadi Party comes forward, and forms alliances with smaller parties and regional parties, the election results may change.

“If SP forges an alliance with SBSP, BJP will not get a single seat in Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Ambedkar Nagar and other districts. There will be a fight (with the BJP) only in two seats in Varanasi,” the former UP minister said.

The SBSP chief claimed that out of the total 403 seats in the assembly, there are 150 seats in eastern UP.

When asked which party can defeat the BJP in the state, he said, “People of the state feel that it is only SP who can challenge the BJP in UP. BSP has also started making strides, but the craze of BSP is not as much as that of SP.

Asked whether the SBSP has been unable to pursue agreements with other parties since its formation in 2002, Rajbhar said, “When there is a conflict of vested interests, people leave. Small parties get financial help.” Tensions have to be faced and that is the reason why big parties woo them. Because of this alliances are breaking up.

Rajbhar had said on Wednesday that he will not forge an alliance with the BJP if the saffron party decides to contest the assembly elections under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath.

Earlier on Tuesday, the SBSP chief had met BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh and fueled speculations that he might join hands with the saffron party again.

The SBSP leader, who heads the Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha as a political front of smaller parties, had earlier said that his outfit may again tie up with the BJP if it chooses a backward caste candidate for next year’s elections as its chief ministerial candidate. chooses the leader.

The party had contested the 2017 assembly elections in alliance with the BJP, but parted ways before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The Rajbhar-led party had won four seats in the last assembly elections. Rajbhar, who was a cabinet minister, had resigned before the Lok Sabha elections.
