Days after a decomposed body was found in a suitcase, police recovered the body of another woman cut into two pieces and hidden in a water drum. Neighbors in the city’s Rahmath Nagar revealed the murder after they learned of foul smell emanating from the victim’s house. The absconding husband allegedly killed his wife after a brawl on Friday night.

The woman, identified as Saroja, had a love marriage and lived with her husband Anil in Hyderabad after coming from Mahbubnagar district.

Police said that preliminary investigation revealed that the marriage of the two was going on in trouble, which was resolved with the intervention of elders of the family.

An argument reportedly ensued between the couple, after which Anil stabbed Saroj to death. He then cut her body into two pieces and stuffed it in a small water drum and then fled the spot and locked the door from outside, an investigation has suggested.

When some neighbors informed the woman’s family about the foul smell, the family members tried to contact the woman. But since both their mobile phones were switched off, they reached the couple’s house only to see the dead body and husband missing in a water drum.

The Jubilee Hills police have registered a case of murder and issued a red alert to trace Anil, the prime suspect in the murder.
