Don’t go overboard, Dr. Rekha clarifies that you don’t need to drink gallons of water thinking it’s good for health. He told that according to Ayurveda, water also needs to be digested.

Each person’s water intake is subjective and, therefore, you should keep an eye out for signs such as not sweating well, constipation, cottony or dry mouth, dark yellow urine, and more. If you feel that you are experiencing any of these symptoms, drink more water as your body needs it.

Supplement the meal with water. It is recommended to drink water 30 minutes before or after a meal. She said, “It is ideal for a Vata person who is malnourished to drink water 30 minutes after a meal and 30 minutes before a meal for an overweight Kapha person.”

Drinking water can seem boring to some people, especially during the summer when you crave caffeinated drinks. Adding a handful of vetiver to the roots during the summer adds flavor to the water. In other seasons, add cumin or cumin seeds.
