The New York lawmaker said on Fox & Friends, ‘Let me tell you what we’re in for. ‘We are for the Constitution. We are in favor of lower taxes. We are in favor of balanced budget. We are for peace through strength and a strong army, not the weakness that Joe Biden has shown and is showing now.’
She also claimed that the agenda Biden stands for is the same agenda supported by progressives, including Sen. Bernie Sanders and representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,
Republican Conference Speaker Representative Alice Stefnik questioned President Joe Biden in his press conference Thursday morning about what Republicans meant.
“The reality is that the far left is controlling the agenda and they have allowed that to happen,” Stefnik said. ‘He has allowed the AOC, Bernie Sanders, to drag his agenda so far to the left.’
At his Wednesday press conference, marking the conclusion of his first year in office, Biden said the one thing he didn’t expect Republicans would be to be so incapable.
“I didn’t anticipate that there would be such a determined effort to make sure that the most important thing was that President Biden did nothing,” the president said.
‘Think about it. What are Republicans for? what are they for? Name me one thing they are for,’ the president continued.
The president marveled at former President Donald Trump’s still grip on the party.
President Joe Biden claimed that five Republican senators have told him he would vote with Democrats on various bills, but expressed fears that former President Donald Trump will challenge a primary if he gets out of line.
‘I’ve had five Republican senators talk to me, bump into me … or sit with me. Those who have told me agree with whatever I am talking about doing for them. “But Joe, if I do that I’m losing in the primary,” Biden said.
‘Did you ever imagine that one person out of office could scare the whole party, where they are unwilling to take any vote contrary to his idea for fear of being defeated in the primary?’ The president asked the reporters in the room rhetorically.
Stefnick said she considers Biden’s comments about five Republican senators to be untrue because GOP members do not support the policies of the Democrats.
“Republicans across the country oppose Joe Biden’s agenda,” she said on Fox. ‘But what is more telling is why his agenda has been torpedoed last week, as Democrats in his own party oppose his agenda, which has so far gone to the left.’
