Hendersonville, Tenn. (WSMV) – A family was displaced when a house caught fire due to lightning.
Hendersonville fire officials said units were dispatched to a residential structure at about 2:03 p.m.
When the crew arrived, they reported that they saw no life-safety concerns; However, due to the proximity of neighboring homes, B Shift workers deployed a two-and-a-half-inch hose line to tackle the residential fire and prevent it from spreading.
There was reportedly considerable external damage to the neighboring residence, and the house being struck by lightning was reported as a total loss.
The crew worked for 45 minutes to douse the fire and no casualties were reported.
