Charlotte Hornets Star Miles Bridges was charged with three counts of domestic violence in Los Angeles, officials said Tuesday.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office announced the charges weeks after Bridges was arrested following an incident West Los Angeles in late June,
“Domestic violence creates physical, mental and emotional trauma that has lasting effects on survivors,” Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon said in a news release. “Children who witness family violence are especially vulnerable and the impact on them is immeasurable. Mr. Bridges will be held accountable for his actions and our Bureau of Victim Services will support survivors through this difficult process “

Representatives for the Hornet or Bridge did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
Michelle Johnson, the mother of two of Bridges’ children, addressed the incident on Instagram on July 1, posting multiple photos of the injuries and a medical report that read, “Adult victim of physical abuse by male partner; strangulation assault, Concussion of the brain; closed fracture of the nasal bone, rib injury, multiple wounds, neck muscle strain.”
Johnson added in a separate Instagram post: “I hate that it came to this but I can’t keep quiet anymore. I’ve seen someone destroying my house, abusing me in every way, and our kids for the rest of my life.” I have nothing to prove to the world, but I will not allow someone who can do such a terrible thing to have no regrets and a picture of who I am not Paint me. I will not allow people around me to silence me and continue to lie to protect this person.”

The LAPD said on Twitter, 24-year-old Bridges was initially arrested on July 1 for “intimate partner violence with injury.” He was released on a $130,000 bond and a court date was set for July 20.

Officials said Bridges faces one felony of injuring a parent of a child and two serious counts of child abuse, which can cause major bodily injury or death.

Bridges is a restricted free agent. The Hornets made him a qualifying offer on 28 June. He led Charlotte in his fourth season with 20.2 points and 7 rebounds.
