Himachal CM gave detailed presentation on zero budget natural farming

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur gave a detailed presentation on zero budget natural farming in the Chief Minister’s conference. BJP-Varanasi on Tuesday in the ruled states. Prime Minister Narendra Modi The conference was presided over by Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of various BJP ruled states.

Thakur said that Himachal Pradesh is an agricultural state and the state government is committed to increase the income of farmers manifold in the state. To achieve this, the state government is trying to create a niche for Himachal agriculture and horticulture products by offering products grown using natural farming techniques like cow urine, cow dung and other local fertilizers.

He said that the State Government is making sincere efforts to promote best practices in natural farming and awareness is being spread among the farmers to adopt natural farming and training is being provided to the farmers to adopt this practice.

The CM said that Subhash Palekar Pratikriti Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojana was launched in 2018 and 1,53,643 farmers have been trained in natural farming and presently 9,192 hectares are being covered under this scheme.

He claimed at the conclave that farmers’ income has increased by about 63.6% and crop diversification has been encouraged as farmers are growing at least nine crops simultaneously. He said that due to zero budget natural farming, the damage to the crop has also come down.

Jai Ram Thakur also informed about other developmental initiatives covering social security, women empowerment and good governance in the state.
