Helicopter crash closes runway at Lancaster Airport

Two people were injured in a helicopter crash at Lancaster Airport at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Airport director Ed Foster said an instructor and student pilot were undergoing flight training on a Bell 47 helicopter at the time of the crash. According to Foster, the accident was in the grass near runway 826. He says that when the airport emergency team arrived, the instructor and students were out of the helicopter. According to Foster, both were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The FAA is investigating.
