Heavy rain in Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry till Saturday

Heavy to very heavy rains are occurring over Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh which is likely to continue till Saturday.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said that the existing well-marked low pressure system over south Bay of Bengal intensified into a depression (surface wind speed 45 to 55 km/h to 65 km/h) on Thursday morning. I had accelerated.

“The system is very likely to intensify into a deep depression (surface wind speed 50 to 60 km/h to 70 km/h). It is very likely to move northwestwards along Sri Lanka coast during next 48 hours and move towards North Tamil Nadu,” said the IMD’s special weather bulletin. On Thursday and Friday, the Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain at many places with heavy rains along the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. On Saturday, the IMD had warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and South Coastal AP and Rayalaseema.
