Even as the state government has reopened schools for classes VI and above, vaccination of teaching and non-teaching staff remains a matter of concern for the education department. Only 14 per cent of the staff in government schools in the state are fully vaccinated.

CHANDIGARH: With 26 fresh cases and one death each in Hisar and Bhiwani, the number of COVID-19 cases reached 7.7 lakh on Friday. Some districts have “very poor” vaccination records. These include Bhiwani and Panipat (7 per cent), Kaithal (8 per cent) and Charkhi Dadri (11 per cent). The immunization records of Gurugram (25 per cent), Panchkula and Karnal (24 per cent) and Rewari (20 per cent) are slightly better than other districts.

Taking strong objection to the poor performance on the vaccination front, the Directorate of School Education has now asked the field level officers including District Education Officers and District Elementary Education Officers to coordinate with the Chief Medical Officers to organize special vaccination camps for the school staff. asked for. .
