Dozens of tenants in a Hammond neighborhood said they were being evicted from their homes. The tenants said they have just received letters from property owners stating that Hurricane Ida has damaged the units so badly that it is not habitable. Tenants at Hammond’s Ridge Estates said they had no idea where they were going. Many people think their homes are livable and they want answers. Tension escalated outside Hammond’s Ridge estate and police showed up to defuse the matter. WDSU contacted the owners several times and there was no response. Click on the video above for the story.
