Hamilton police are investigating a fatal shooting in the city’s east end.

Just after 8 p.m. on Sunday, police were called to Morris and Glendale Avenues near King Street East and Dunsmurray Road, where a man in his 20s had been shot and killed.

In an update to the media on Monday afternoon, police identified the victim as 23-year-old Everton Frost, a resident of the Hamilton area.

Find out. Sgt. Sarah Beck said Frost was found in the middle of Morris Avenue with “multiple” gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He said the shooting is believed to have been targeted but police do not have any suspect information at this time and the motive is still under investigation.

Hamilton police confirmed that they knew Frost, and late Monday, a spokesman confirmed that he was Charged in August 2020 in a gun and drugs investigation.

The public is being asked to check surveillance cameras in the vicinity for any suspicious activity between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

It comes after a weekend of shooting across the city, including two Saturdays.

One happened at 4 a.m. near Upper James Street and Churchill Avenue. One person was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. In this case, the police say that two suspects were seen running away on foot.

About an hour later, officers responded to a shooting on Sherman Avenue North between Barton Street East and Princes Street.

One person was found and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are asking residents in those areas to review their security surveillance cameras for the time of those shootings as well.
