Guelph police say two arrests have been made in connection with a string of burglaries that occurred overnight in the city.

Four of these incidents occurred on March 24 while the homeowners were sleeping. investigators say Of the four houses that were entered, three were not locked.,

Two of them were in the area of ​​Gordon Street and University Avenue, one at Gordon and Courtright Road, and the other at Courtright and Ironwood Road. Wallets, cash and electronics were stolen from each home.

A black Audi SUV was stolen from an Ironwood Road home. The property inside the Audi was later recovered along with a Toyota SUV, which had been reported stolen in Hamilton.

The investigation led Guelph Police to an address in Hamilton where the stolen Audi was found. Information was passed to Hamilton Police, who spotted the vehicle on March 27 and conducted a traffic stop.

A 30-year-old man and 33-year-old woman from Hamilton were returned to Guelph to face a lengthy list of charges in connection with the break-in in Guelph.

Investigators are also trying to determine if the Guelph burglary is connected to similar incidents in Hamilton, Wellington County and the Niagara Region.
