Guelph raises outdoor water restrictions to level 2 red – Guelph | Globalnews.ca

The City of Guelph has raised its outdoor water restriction to a Level 2 red.

This means that, starting Wednesday, homeowners are no longer allowed to water their lawns at any time of the day.

Edible gardens and trees remain free and ornamental gardens can only be watered between 7am and 9am and 7pm to 9pm on calendar dates depending on the address number.

In a news release, the city says the move to Red Level 2 is due to increased water use, hot, dry weather and low river levels.

The city says it will continue to monitor conditions and work with the Grand River Conservation Authority throughout the summer to decide whether water use levels can change.
