Greece hits back at Turkey’s claims in the Aegean Sea

ATHENS: Greece published a series of historical maps on Thursday that refuted Turkey’s allegations that Athens was violating the peace treaties signed after World War I and World War II.
Turkish officials say Greeks have deployed troops to the Aegean islands in violation of peace treaties after two conflicts in the 20th century.
Athens countered that troops were deployed in response to the presence of Turkish military units, aircraft and landing craft on the opposite coast, in addition to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974.
