No cause of death has been revealed.

The Chargers also paid tribute to the defensive end, writing that he was “gone too soon.”

“Our hearts are with Jesse’s family, friends and loved ones,” Lemonnier’s former team tweeted.

Lemonier’s agent, Drew Smith, told ESPN that the football player and his girlfriend were expecting a baby.

Lemonnier was born in Hialeah, Fla. He played football at Liberty University before signing with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2020. They played six games With the Chargers, made two tackles before being waived.

Lemonnier was picked up by the Lions and played seven games He had 15 total tackles and 1.5 sacks during the 2021 season.

In November, Lemonnier was drafted by the Arlington Renegades of the XFL, but he decided to sign with the Houston Gamblers of the USFL instead. He was traded to the Birmingham Stallions before the following season.
