Fireworks, light shows return at Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo on Canada Day | Globalnews.ca

After a gap of few years due to COVID-19 Epidemic, Canada Day Celebrations will return to Kitchener, Cambridge And waterloo on Friday.

At Kitchener, this year’s event will feature fireworks as well as free concerts, with the first artists taking the stage at 3 p.m. in Carl Zahr Square in front of City Hall.

Canadian veteran Glass Tiger, who will headline the evening’s show, will share the stage with Rufus John, Bad Child and Alyssa Reed.

If the weather permits, the fireworks will go off at around 10:20 p.m.

Down in Cambridge, parades, fireworks and other celebrations will return this year.
The fishing derby starts things off at 8 a.m., followed by a parade on King Street at 11 a.m.

There will also be a children’s area with fireworks, beach rides, a car show, and music performances at 10 p.m. during the day.

At Waterloo, Canada Day celebrations will begin at 4 p.m. west of Waterloo Park with a community picnic, featuring live performances, food trucks, giant games and a laser drone show.

A number of local acts are scheduled to perform, including JP Sunga, Sam Nabi and Clarissa DiCano.
