A fire broke out Saturday evening near the Okanagan Golf Club in Kelowna.
The Kelowna Fire Department Dispatch Center received several 911 calls reporting a fire broke out at a structure in the 1800 block of Country Club Drive.
“On arrival, smoke and flame were visible on one’s rear balcony [six] story residential apartment building, which was difficult to access,” said Kelowna Fire Department platoon Captain Jarrett Dice.
“The crew carried out an internal assault [sixth] Flooring using standpipe water system. two suites had to be broken up [fifth] And [sixth] floor to put out the fire. ,
There was no resident home in any of the units at the time of the fire and no casualties have been reported.
There was extensive water damage from the sprinkler system. Ten crew members and two engines are present at the scene.
