Sen. John FettermanD-Pa. In a new interview, he criticized the “germ of antisemitism” seen in anti-Israel protests occurring on American college campuses.
“Protest is a great American value, but I don’t think it’s really helpful for Hamas to be in a puppy tent,” Fetterman said on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday.”
“I want to be clear, there is a germ of anti-Semitism in these protests, and sometimes it flares up. And again, this includes a leader from Colombia, who has said some terrible things, ‘Well, ‘They’re lucky we’re not killing Zionists’ and things like that, and he defends himself by saying, ‘Well, these were taken out of context.'”
“And I feel like, it’s very similar to the way college presidents are, the same kind of language, and the kind of monoculture that creates situations and that gets replicated. And now it’s no surprise when you look at this “Looking at the kind of expression that’s typical on a campus like this,” Fetterman said.
It seemed that the senator was referencing khimani jamesA protest leader from Colombia who went viral online for suggesting the killing of Zionists, whom he compared to “white supremacists” and “Nazis”.
Fetterman reiterates support Israel’s right to defend itself As a nation, going forward, the Jewish State also has the right to “pursue and eliminate Hamas, or at least force them to surrender.”
“I’m confused why we’re not talking about it more,” the Pennsylvania Democrat said. “And if you’re going to protest, why aren’t we protesting… I can’t end that war, Joe Biden can’t end that war, netanyahu cannot die That war, but Hamas can end it now, immediately. They could release the last hostages, and they could surrender.”

He added, “And all the suffering, death and destruction also ends there. So, for true peace, you cannot allow Hamas to operate.” “It is very appropriate to ensure that Hamas needs to be neutralized.”
Fetterman recalled how he said before the primaries, “I support peace and I support the two-state solution, but if things hit the fan, I’ll lean on Israel, and that’s what I did.” Have done.”
