Farm worker dies after being hit by tractor in Sanilac Company

According to the Sanilack County Sheriff’s Office, a farm worker was killed after being struck by a tractor driven by another worker.

On Sunday, January 16 at 6:49 p.m., the Sanilack County Central dispatch will be sent to the N.N. of Evergreen Township. Received a 911 call regarding the incident that took place in the 3000 block of Decker Road.

According to preliminary investigation, a 25-year-old male migrant worker from Mexico was driving west in the driveway of the farm in a loader tractor when he hit a 38-year-old male migrant worker from Mexico who was walking in the driveway.

The Sanilack County Sheriff’s Office said the 38-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies were assisted by Michigan State Police, Kingston Police, Cass City MMR, Lamotte Township Fire Department and Argyle Township Fire Department.
