STRASBOURG: The European Union’s executive branch proposed new sanctions on Russia on Wednesday that would cut off 11 billion euros worth of goods and target Iran’s drone producers over the war in Ukraine.
European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said she expected the 27 EU member states to agree to a new package as part of a joint battery of G7 sanctions on February 24, the one-year anniversary of the invasion.
