Elvis Costello uses washing-up liquid to protect his voice – Bhaskar Live English News – India Times English News

London, March 4 | English singer-songwriter Elvis Costello was once advised by an expert to spritz his mouthwash liquid as a way to preserve his most valuable asset.

Recalling the advice he received during his career, he shared: “My favorite was what a famous throat doctor told me years ago – he’s dead now but he’s written books about the voice. He told me (To try) a drop of Fairy Liquid told in a one-of-a-kind spray like you spray your flowers to keep the green fly away.”

The ‘She’ hitmaker reported that the washing-up liquid “prevents the cords from sticking”.

He told ‘Table manners with Jesse and Lenny Ware’: “A drop of dish soap, definitely diluted, and they said keeps the cords from sticking. You sprinkle it in your mouth but you don’t taste it.” ” Because it’s too thin.”

Earlier this year, Elvis revealed that he kept his voice in good shape by performing in his garden during the lockdown.

The music star lives in New York and Vancouver Island with his wife, Diana Kroll, and explained how he kept his voice “in trim” amid the global health crisis.

He said: “I like to work on new songs in the morning. I have managed to raise my voice in the last one year by performing in the garden. This caused a stir among the neighbours. I don’t have a studio at home, just a computer. It’s all too easy to bang about the old days being better, but I can compose just as easily on a laptop.

“In the 1970s we were recording albums at Poké London studios using a tape machine. If I dream of a song, I have to keep humming it until I get close enough to the guitar that I can compose chords. ,
