ED accepts Sanjay Raut’s request, issues fresh summons for July 1

Accepting a request made by Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut, the Enforcement Directorate today again summoned him to appear on July 1 and record his statement under the Prevention of Laundering Act (PMLA) in connection with the alleged case. asked for Patra Chawl land scam case and other related financial transactions involving his wife and friends.

Confirming the issue of a second summon, agency officials said Raut has been asked to bring some important documents related to the case to the ED’s regional office in Mumbai on July 1.

Raut was summoned yesterday to appear before the ED on June 28 but sought extension due to work obligations and attending the Alibaug conference.

Officials said today his lawyers met ED representatives in Mumbai and sought 14 days’ time to prepare for their appearance, but the agency granted them three days’ relief.

Earlier, talking to reporters in Mumbai, Raut said, “The moment I am free, I will go to the ED. I am a legislator. I know the law. I am a law abiding person even though the law enforcing agencies are acting in a wrong way.

Raut had on Monday termed the ED’s summons as a “conspiracy” to stop him from fighting against his political opponents, and said he would not be able to appear before the agency on Tuesday as he had to attend a meeting in Alibaug (Raigad district). was to participate in. ,
