Brentford Police have issued a public advisory after about 50 brass-painted tongs were thrown on the TH&B Rail Trail bike path.

Investigators say several bicycles were damaged and taken off the mark in the Shellard Lane/Conklin Road area around 8 a.m. Thursday.

No bodily injuries have been reported as a result of the vandalism, but in addition to the safety risk to pedestrians and cyclists, police note that small children and pets may be at risk of injury.

The Brantford Police Service reminds all trail users to be mindful of their surroundings.
