Brampton, Ontario — Premier doug ford says he will negotiate fair with the province Teacher’sBut cautions that students should be in school in the fall.

Ford says the province will pay more than one percent to teachers whose contracts expire on August 31.

Premier says extra-curricular activities should also be available for students arriving in September.

Those activities have been cut in the past when teachers work to govern.

Four of the five major education associations have already taken the first step of launching a bargain by sending a notice of intent to the province.

The Progressive Conservatives had poor relations with unions over the past four years, with teachers organizing various strikes and work-to-rule campaigns during the final round of negotiations.
