Officials said that adequate arrangements have been made to enforce curfew in Delhi to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Essential services have been exempted during the curfew. The movement of people will be restricted for 55 hours. In view of the spread of the Omicron variant, the Delhi government this week announced a weekend curfew on Tuesday.
Officials said that people will be allowed to come out of their homes only in case of emergency. Those exiting will have to present an e-pass or a valid identity card issued by the government.
Officials said that there will be a strict vigil on markets, roads, colonies and other public places. If need be, we will also increase the number of enforcement squads. If someone has to go out for essential work and if he does not fall under any exemption category then he will have to take an e-pass issued by the Delhi government.
Apart from these, judges, judicial officers, court staff and lawyers will also be allowed to travel on production of valid identity card, service ID card, photo entry pass and permission letter issued by the court administration. Other exemptions include those associated with private medical personnel such as doctors, nursing staff, paramedics and hospitals, diagnostic centres, testing laboratories, clinics, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies and medical oxygen suppliers on production of valid identity cards. People coming to or leaving from airports, railway stations and inter-state bus terminus will be allowed to travel on production of valid tickets.
