Delhi Weather: Moderate rain likely today, says IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in Delhi on Monday.

At 8.10 am, an update from the IMD said that isolated parts of Delhi may receive thunderstorms and moderate rain in the next two hours.

On Monday, the maximum temperature is likely to be 34 degree Celsius, while the minimum is likely to be 25 degree Celsius. At 8.30 am on Monday, the relative humidity stood at 92 per cent, while the temperature stood at 28.4 degrees Celsius. While no more rainfall is likely for the rest of the week, surface winds and partly cloudy weather is likely.

Light to moderate rain occurred in some parts of Delhi on Sunday. In 24 hours from 8.30 am on Sunday, IMD’s Aya Nagar station recorded the highest rainfall – 29.7 mm. It was followed by Station at Ridge at 27.6 mm, Safdarjung at 15.4 mm, Lodi Road at 10.3 mm and Palam at 2.7 mm.

Between June 1 and August 8, IMD stations in Delhi have recorded an average rainfall of 420.1 mm, which is 30% more than the normal figure of 323.5 mm.
