Delhi Police arrests two members of interstage drug mafia, seizes 358 kg of ganja

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Saturday arrested two members of an alleged inter-state drug syndicate with 358 kg of ganja loaded in a Scorpio car from Dwarka. Police said the accused were coming in two or three cars from Andhra Pradesh to deliver the consignment to Delhi.

Joint commissioner of police (crime) Alok Kumar said the gang duped the law enforcement agencies of more than seven states and traveled 2,200 km to reach Delhi-NCR.

The accused have been identified as Rakesh (21) and Joginder (30). They told the police that they work under a man named Vijay alias Fauji, a retired soldier. A total of Rs 60,000 was paid to both of them for taking drugs from Andhra to Delhi.

During interrogation, the police found that the accused use high-end fast cars like Scorpio, Fortuner and i20 for transportation. Meanwhile, an i20, which was being used as a ‘pilot car’ for the police picket and the Border Security Force’s investigation, managed to escape, police said.

Police is now conducting raids to arrest other gang members and kingpin Vijay.
