Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party in MCD election campaign mode

NS Aam Aadmi Party The Municipal Corporation will launch its MCD campaign on Thursday with emphasis on recruiting members ahead of the elections.

Municipal elections in the capital are likely to be held in April next year. A special app will appear for uploading all the campaign details in ‘MCD Badla Abhiyan’. AAP’s Delhi chief Gopal Rai said an in-charge would be appointed in each division to carry out the campaign activities.

“Looking at the MCD elections, we are going to launch a big membership drive soon. In this MCD Badla Abhiyan, we will upload the data through a special app for streamlined and efficient functioning. District teams of the party’s state organization, observers, presidents of each assembly and organization ministers were trained to carry out the MCD revenge campaign at the party office,” he said.

There will be meetings at the assembly level till December 1 where the in-charge and MLAs of the area will be present. The agenda is to select the Mandal in-charges who will work with the Mandal Presidents.

Rai said that party desks would be set up in each mandal in a week. Outdoor campaigns highlighting the issues with party posters will be put up during the week. New members will also be added.

“We have at least 8-10 people in every street for the campaign. These people will take forward our campaign and its awareness in their respective lanes to ensure good connectivity. New members will be identified to strengthen the organisation,” Rai said.
