a . mother of Toronto The man who reported missing last year says police told him a body they believe was his son’s recently found in Lake Ontario.

Rosemary White-Johnson’s 26-year-old son, Rahim WhiteIt was last seen on 1 December 2021 at around 3:30 pm in the Osler Street and Pelham Avenue area.

Police later said White’s vehicle was in a parking lot near Sunnyside Beach. Officials said his wallet was inside the vehicle, but said his phone was missing.

In an interview with Global News on Thursday, White-Johnson said she was informed by police on Wednesday that the body of a man – believed to be that of her son – was located in Lake Ontario.

Witnesses reported seeing a body at Sunnyside Beach in Toronto on Monday.

Global News contacted Toronto police, but the force has yet to confirm the identity of the body located on Monday, or whether there is suspicion of foul play.

However, White-Johnson said officers told her that the man’s death did not appear suspicious.

White-Johnson told Global News that officials have not yet asked her to identify the body.

What’s more, White-Johnson said she does not believe her son’s disappearance was ever properly investigated.

“I don’t know if there was an actual investigation to begin with,” she said.

White-Johnson claims that there was a lot of suspicious activity, including suspicious visions of her son, that she believes were not followed closely enough.

White-Johnson said, “There are so many questions that have never really been answered, a lot of people who were never really able to get clarity on what happened on that particular day.”

White-Johnson said she had contacted the province’s police watchdog, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU).

In an email to Global News Thursday evening, a spokesman for the agency said “there is no SIU investigation into this matter.”

However, White-Johnson believes that whatever the reason for her son’s disappearance, it “will come to light.”

“Whatever it is and whatever its cause, it will come to light,” she said.
