Dad who walked 3,000km for Big4 job is dismissed as ‘too fat’ after losing 90kg

An Australian father, who was sacked because of his size after taking his family 3,000km for a job, has opened up about his battle with weight, sharing that over the years he has How to reduce 90 kg weight.

Hamish Griffin posted on social media about the “heartbreak and embarrassment” of his ending, in just “two hours” that Strahan had a new role in Big 4 Holiday Park, TasmaniaDue to which his family became ‘homeless’.

The birth of their beloved son Freddie, now eight years old, made him want to replace him.

‘I’ll admit I’ve been a grown man for a good part of my life, however since having a family, I’ve always wanted to be the best I can be for my family, so 8 years ago I started losing weight As many Australians have traveled,’ Mr Griffin said.

‘I’ve had great results as my friends and family will attest. I have put myself through surgery, diet, exercise, blood, sweat and tears to lose 90 kgs.

‘That hurts so much… After realizing that I had done so well, this terrible man still told me I was too fat to be a manager.’

He claimed that his new employer, the owner of Big4 Strahan Holiday Retreat, justified the decision by speculating that he would not be able to mow a lawn or climb a ladder, and that any ‘reasonable’ person would agree.

Mr Griffin said his son Freddy was ‘delighted’ to have the platypus in Tasmania and hoped to find a Tasmanian devil. But he had to tell them they were leaving when he was fired after two hours of work.

Mr Griffin also claimed that the owner of the park had “insulted” him by claiming that he hid his “medical condition”, which he described as “obesity”.

The park’s owners confirmed in a statement provided abc He believes Mr. Griffin may have harbored a medical problem.

Mr Griffin later received legal advice that the presumption of a medical issue without evidence could be grounds for a discrimination case.

Mr Griffin, his wife Hazel and younger son Freddie, had arrived in Tasmania after selling most of their property to travel from Cloncurry in north-west Queensland, where he managed the holiday park for eight years.

He claimed that he was physically capable of performing all the tasks necessary to do his job during that time.

Griffin said, ‘I am not going to be deterred from carrying a few extra kilos on my mind, nor is it going to deter me from performing my duties as manager of a park for the past eight years.

He claimed that he was not given a fair chance to prove ‘I am capable’.

Instead, his new employer terminated him ‘because he felt I couldn’t do these jobs, and could cause him liability because of an injury because I’m too fat’.

His initial post to ‘Family and Friends’ told him he had ‘bad news’.

‘It is with great sadness and considerable embarrassment that I have to advise that for Griffin to turn the Tree of Dreams in Apple Isle into a nightmare … before it even began.’

Mr Griffin suggested he was looking into legal action over his ‘disgraceful’ dismissal.

‘I completed an interview via video for the job, and sent him the link [an online] The photo, to which he replied “What a lovely picture of you all”, he said.

Big4 Holiday Park in Strahan confirmed the sacking.

Park owners told ABC that Mr Griffin’s dismissal was due to a workplace health issue, based on concerns that Mr Griffin would harm himself at work.

He also claimed that he withheld health conditions from employers.
