In late 2021, the company received an anonymous report alleging misconduct by someone in field management, CVS said in a statement. The Wall Street Journal reported that two female employees at New Jersey CVS alleged that the store’s manager “harassed or touched them inappropriately.” CVS confirmed the allegation to CNN.
In its statement, CVS said it hired an outside firm to conduct the investigation, which resulted in the shooting of not only the store manager but several people as well. According to a statement to CNN, employees “failed to treat the allegations with the seriousness we expect.”
“We absolutely do not tolerate harassment, hostile, abusive or discriminatory behavior or actions,” the company said in a statement to CNN Business.
Following the incident, CVS said it had established an Office of Workplace Support, which would report to Lynch and try to improve the ability of employees to privately raise concerns or report wrongdoing.
