India on Friday provided 1,00,64,032 doses of the vaccine as part of its nationwide vaccination campaign. This is the biggest ever vaccination achieved in a day since the launch of the vaccination campaign. In another significant achievement, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 62 crore (62,09,43,580) as of 7 PM provisional report today.

Meanwhile, Kerala recorded over 30,000 daily infections for the third consecutive day on Friday with 32,801 new cases in the last 24 hours. With 179 new additions, the death toll in the state rose to 20,313. The test positivity rate was recorded at 19.22 per cent.

Earlier in the day, India recorded 44,658 new Covid-19 cases and 496 deaths in the last 24 hours that ended at 8 am on Friday. With this the country’s caseload has increased to 3,26,03,188, while the death toll has risen to 4,36,861. India completed the administration of at least one dose on Thursday COVID-19 Half of its eligible adult population has been vaccinated with the country crossing 61.10 crore cumulative vaccinations.

In another development, Delhi government has decided to reopen schools Classes 9th to 12th will start from 1st September in a phased manner from 1st September while classes 6th to 8th will start from 8th September.
