Baltimore (WJZ) — Four federal monuments owned by Baltimore are going to the Los Angeles Museum of Exhibit, Mayor Brandon Scott’s office confirmed Thursday.

According to the exhibition, decommissioned Confederate monuments will be on display alongside contemporary art created in response to the sculptures Arts news outlet ArtNet.
Baltimore monuments include the Confederate Soldiers and Sailor Monument from Mount Royal Avenue, the Confederate Women’s Monument from West University Parkway, the Roger B. Tani Memorial and Robert E. Lee and Thomas. The Jay “Stonewall” Jackson Monument from Wyman Park Dell.

In 2017 an idea was put forward by then-Mayor Katherine Pugh that memorials could go to Confederate cemeteries. It is not clear where the statues will go when the exhibition ends.
